Pelourinho: They Don’t Really Care About Us (2019) – freely inspired by visionary American author, sociologist, civil rights activist and Pan-Africanist, W. E. B Du Bois. Filmed on Super-8 film in Pelourinho the historic city center of Salvador, Bahia, the film is a series of vignettes that juxtaposes a letter from Du Bois to the U.S. Embassy of Brazil in 1927 concerning attitudes and discrimination towards Black American travelers against pop icon Michael Jackson’s most controversial music video.
