BronzeLens Film Festival Announces First Creators Scholarship Recipients
ATLANTA-April 26, 2022-BronzeLens Film Festival (BronzeLens) Creators Scholarship Committee has selected four students to receive monetary scholarship awards as the first cohort of BronzeLens Creators Scholars. Selected students are exemplary candidates enrolled in Filmmaking, Acting for Film, Writing for Film/Television, or Film Production. Each student’s grade point average exceeds 3.0, each demonstrates a core competency in their discipline and all have a clear record of engagement in community service.
ATLANTA – April 26, 2022 – BronzeLens Film Festival (BronzeLens Creators Scholarship Committee has selected four students. This year, Spelman College students Stephanie Crawford, a senior Documentary Filmmaking major, and Kennedy Dunning, a junior Documentary Filmmaking major, Comparative Women’s Studies minor, and Cristina Martinez-Saneaux, a junior majoring in Theatre Performance at Florida A & M University, are receiving scholarships of $5000. Ifayemisi Elebuibon, a sophomore Film major at Atlanta Technical College, gets a scholarship for $3000.
The BronzeLens Women Superstars Honors program, which will take place this year on August 27 at Starling Hotel Atlanta Midtown, is the primary fundraising component for the newly established BronzeLens Creators Scholarship. Students attending Morehouse College, Howard University, Spelman College, Clark Atlanta University, Florida A&M University, and Atlanta Technical College are eligible for the scholarship.

About the BronzeLens Film Festival
BronzeLens Film Festival of Atlanta, Georgia, is a non-profit organization founded in 2009 dedicated to bringing national and worldwide attention to Atlanta as a center for film and film production for people of color. Its mission is two-fold: to promote Atlanta as the new film mecca for people of color to showcase films and provide networking opportunities to develop the next generation of filmmakers. Since its inception, BronzeLens producers have brought national and worldwide attention to Atlanta, helping to showcase the city as a leader in the thriving film industry.
In 2017 the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences approved BronzeLens as a qualifying festival for the Short Film Awards category. The short film that receives the BronzeLens Best Short Award may now be eligible to enter the Academy’s Short Subject competition for the concurrent season.
